How to fix Chrome v138 unload Event Deprecation in atvise SCADA

Created by Sebastian Garro, Modified on Thu, 17 Jul at 11:43 PM by Sebastian Garro

If you are working with atvise SCADA 3.11 or below versions, you might experience an issue regarding visualization while using the web client in Chrome/Chromium-based browsers since the v138 update.

The issue applies to the following when viewed in Chrome/Edge v138 or later:

  • atvise® Server / Visualization versions up to and including v3.11.

  • webMI pro versions up to and including v2.40.

  • Any webMI SDK visualization generated with atvise® builder ≤ v3.11.

Temporary Workaround

To fix this, you can go to chrome flags and disable the Deprecate the unload event flag by accessing to the following url:

chrome://flags/#deprecate-unload

This feature can be accessed in Edge as well, if needed.

edge://flags/#deprecate-unload

Remember to restart the browser for changes to make effect.

Upcoming atvise® v3.12 (and later) and future webMI releases will be adapted to the new Chromium lifecycle model and will officially support Chrome/Edge v138+ without requiring the flag.
