Practical Guide: How to Use the Historian Module for Data Historization within vNode

To begin, the first step is to create a new module. Start by navigating to the system panel and selecting the "Configuration" option (config). Next, in the new "Modules" panel (modules), click to open a new panel labeled "Model" (model). Here, enter a name in the available fields to create the new module. Finally, in the configuration panel, select the module type named "historian". Then save the configuration.

The new module will appear under the "Modules" option in the Explorer panel. Let's enter the module to configure communication parameters.

By default, when installing vNode, it sets up an embedded MongoDB-based database for data historization. Here, we'll specify that the network interface of the database is local for local connections, using the default port 27017. Lastly, we can choose the directory path where these files will be stored. If we leave it as default, vNode will store them in our installation folder.

Lastly, we need to specify which tags will use the historian module. This is done in each tag's configuration. Navigate to the "History" option, located next to "Source". Enable it and enter the name of our module.

Once this is done, navigate to the "Navigation" panel under the "Data" section. Select the "History" option to view the tags that have the historian module enabled. On the right-hand side, you'll find a panel that allows us to explore our historized data based on specified conditions.

For instance, you can retrieve raw data from the last 10 minutes as an example.

Next, click on the "Apply" button. This will display a graph or allow us to view the data in raw form within a table, accessible through the icons at the top.
