How to change the extension of a certificate installed using the browser or the certmngr

How to change the extension of a certificate used on a website or an address:  

 

Once you receive the certificate if the extension doesn’t match what’s needed for the software it is possible to change it installing it on your machine.  

To make this you will have to use the web navigator and go to the certificates:  

For example, for the website Freshdesk:

We can generate it as .cer .der .p7c using the browser Microsoft edge  

We can generate them as .cer or p7b using google chrome or the certmngr of windows (once you install it you can choose personal to find it easier  

How to change the extension of a Personal certificate using certmgr

Once you find the certificate you have to right click and select export and the format desired  

  

For this example, it is not possible to export the key file  

 

 

Choose the destination and file name and select finish 

You will find the certificate created in the folder specified ahead.
